Depression Study up to $100

Please consider taking part in a nationwide research study sponsored by the NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MENTAL HEALTH. The study will create a DNA collection from over 2,700 people to permit scientists to search for depression-related genes. These scientists will not be given any information that could identify you or your family. BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING: • Help us with this difficult task. • Finding relevant genes could lead to the development of better treatments. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? • People who have had 2 or more periods of depression. • The first depression started by age 30 or younger. • At least one brother, sister, or parent has also had depression (by age 40 or younger). • We are unable to include people with bipolar disorder, or with bipolar disorder in the immediate family. IF YOU VOLUNTEER: • You will be interviewed about your personal and family mental health history. • You do not need to live near our site. Interviews can be completed by phone. • You will be asked for a blood specimen for DNA studies. This can be done in your own home or in our office. • You may be asked for help in inviting family members to participate, but family participation is not required. • Confidentiality is protected. DO GENES CAUSE DEPRESSION? Studies of depression in families suggest that around 50% of the predisposition to major depression is caused by genes. People with recurrent depression that starts at a younger age have more relatives with depression. There are probably many interacting genes, rather than a single gene as in some medical disorders. WHY FIND THESE GENES? Identifying these genes would help us to understand the brain mechanisms involved in severe depression. This could lead to discovery of new treatments. FOR MORE INFORMATION: Phone: (212) 543-6520 or 543-5020 Email: sibhealth@childpsych.columbia.edu Internet: www.nyspi.org/depression *This is not a part-time job. Compensation is being provided for participation in a research study.

What are Online Paid Surveys?

What are Online Paid Surveys?

Webster’s online dictionary describes it as the following:
transitive verb1 a: to examine as to condition, situation, or value : APPRAISE b: to query (someone) in order to collect data for the analysis of some aspect of a group or area2: to determine and delineate the form, extent, and position of (as a tract of land) by taking linear and angular measurements and by applying the principles of geometry and trigonometry3: to view or consider comprehensively4: INSPECT, SCRUTINIZE intransitive verb: to make a survey
However we unless you have been living under a rock for the past 10 years sometime you or one of your close friends has been asked to fill out a survey. These surveys come in all shapes and size big ones, little ones, all types are out there. At first glance you feel proud to have had your input/opinion taken by the company, after a while we get hardened to the idea and most people
Just generally ignore them.

But surveys are important, especially to the cooperation as a valuable source of information about what people are thinking. It helps them in a few ways for Marketing Purposes also for Starting-Up Businesses and don’t forget for Launching a new Product. Many companies don’t have a close and immediate contact with their customers. Consider for example, some of the top household names in the grocery sector. Their immediate customers are distributors and major supermarket chains but their real customers, the ultimate consumer will make decisions maybe hundreds or thousands of miles away. The manufacturer needs to know why this customer chooses one product over another. But how do they find out?

The answer is surveys. The manufacturer hires a Marketing Research firm to find out what potential buyers think. The Marketing Research firm carefully crafts a series of questions designed to get answers to the primary questions that management has. Then they contract a survey making company to physically get answers to their questionnaire. They specify the demographics; geographic areas, qualifying questions, "How many Times have you purchased groceries last month?" "How much of the grocery shopping is done by you each month?" I think you get the picture here.

Years ago that meant sending interviewers onto the streets or onto the phones to ask people for their opinions. Fortunately, that time has changed with the internet however some companies still use the phone or face to face method. Surveys can feel like an interview and the atmosphere can be quite threatening.

Online paid surveys are nothing like this, as the survey takers remain anonymous and can take them at their own pace as and when it fits their schedule, rather than the exact moment they’re rushing out the door (subject to quota not being filled). Participants can be totally honest and truthful, as unlike face to face or telephone surveys, they don’t have to worry about saying something stupid. This means the product manufacturers and brand name companies find out what consumers really think rather than what they think the company wants to hear.

The survey maker runs a computer sort on its database of survey takers to see how many qualify under the demographic specifications. Then they select a representative sample of these; adjust the sample size to fit within their budget for this survey. When they are ready they post the survey on a private page of their website and send out email notifications to the chosen survey participants.

Now how do they know that these people are qualified and that they will take the time to go to the website and fill out the survey forms?

They know that these survey takers are qualified because they had all filled out applications earlier giving their complete demographic information. And, they know that most will come in and fill out the survey forms because they have already agreed to pay them for their participation!

And the survey maker's contract with the Marketing Research firm included the funds to pay the survey takers.

And so you see, it makes perfect sense for the manufacturer (and thousands of companies in similar situations of needing information and feedback from their distant customer base) to pay for this survey information. This means that there are many thousands of surveys being made, and the survey makers must have a large, stable list of survey takers available to send them out.

Make your survey signups easy

OK before the big reviews and getting your hands dirty with all that cash from the surveys. I would recommend that you make it as easy as possible. So make your survey signups easy with this special tool. Roboform saves all your information on your computer, name, address, age, birthday, etc. You decide what you want it to save. Then when you go to sign up for a survey site or a freebie you just click once and everything is filled in for you. This is a great time saver and takes all the tediousness out of signing up

Ok don’t get scared of the form this is a very nice form to assist you in completing the survey's way faster than just typing in each line.

I use Google auto fill for things like name and address but I use roboform for everything else... it stores age, income, and all that other stuff.. Maybe Google will too? I just fill safer with roboform for the nitty gritty stuff. Not to mention the gazillion user names and passwords! LOL.. Google and yahoo don't keep all those in memory. Internet Explorer has auto fill options under Tools >> Internet Options >> Content >> Auto Complete - Just click the options you want.

Roboform is nice, but there is a fee to license your copy (after the free trial ends). If you rob a bank, you can also get a free trial. There are other form fillers out there - I haven't researched them in detail as the Internet Explorer and Google work fine for me. There are some sweepstakes sites that protect against automated entries, or state automated entries will be invalidated. I am not sure if that applies to Roboform or the sweepstakes companies that do mass entries for their members who pay. If I'm entering a sweepstakes for one of these, I just type my info in the Smith-Barney way.

Well as always if you know of something better why not share it with the community. This will help everyone out and you won’t feel that you’re better than anyone else. Let’s kick this thing off with a bang and make this the best place ever to find Money making surveys without costing us a penny. I am confident that with the help of each one of you we shall build this up for every mother or father (in my case), to generate them at least a little bit of money in these troubled times. They say this is the big depression well fight back and make yourself some quick and easy cash.
Just don’t go overboard and think you will make a million dollars overnight because sorry bro that will just not happen. Keep it steady and stay focused on doing each and every survey.

On one final key note or words of wisdom, make sure you do each one of the online surveys honestly. Some of the surveys will try to trick you up or at least catch you if you’re not reading. I have seen in the past were it is asking tons of questions and out of the blue the next questions states click block #4 for verification purpose. So don’t say I did not warn you. Good luck and god’s speed.

As always please comment and let me know how I could improve or what you would like to see in the next post.
