Depression Study

Research Opportunities at Howard University Howard University is conducting a study on African Americans, to try to find specific genetic factors that predispose people to develop severe depression. We need to find people to participate who have certain kinds of depression in themselves and in family members. It would be very helpful if you might be willing to participate in the study by answering some questions about any history of depression that you might have had, and also about any observations you have had about depression in other family members. There are two types of interviews in which one may participate in: Interviews that can be done over the phone for those individuals who are out of state, and in-person interviews for those individuals who are local to the Washington DC metro area. All individuals, once enrolled will be compensated for their participation in this research study. My Advice: Lightspeed is a very good company that offers a nice range of gift/paypal surveys. Do all your profiles first. Be honest with the profiles because this leads to the surveys. If you’re not honest then you’re going to get crappy online surveys in your box. Check your email often. Surveys are very time crunched. Meaning when they send you the link they also send it to everyone else and may only need 100 responses. So do it quick to ensure you get the money!

My Advice: It is a good idea to take the first couple of survey invitations to show your dedication to the panel. Survey Spot sends more survey invitations than most panels, so we only recommend that you take the cash incentive surveys that you feel are worth your time, and to take a few sweepstakes surveys a month that have topics that are interesting to you. Unless you simply have lots of time, I would not recommend taking all of the survey invitations they send out. It is too time consuming, and your time can better spent taking survey invitations from the other survey panels we recommend. The most important advice is to answer the surveys honestly, and to take time to answer them correctly. The better your responses, the more likely it is that you will qualify for your cash survey invitations, and be invited to take future paid surveys.
